The Jonathan Leslie Memorial Fund is pleased to announce that it will offer one or more $1,000 college scholarships in Spring 2008 to graduating senior students at Arlington Martin High School (the “Leslie Scholarship”).
In order to be eligible for the Leslie Scholarship, the applicant must be a senior at Arlington Martin High School who graduated early at the conclusion of the Fall 2007 semester or who is scheduled to graduate in Spring 2008.
Applicants for the Leslie Scholarship will be evaluated on the basis of leadership activities, academic and personal achievements, community service and personal character. All of these factors will be considered in the evaluation of applicants, but no single factor holds priority.
In order to be considered for a Leslie Scholarship, an applicant is requested to submit the following to the Fund on or before May 7, 2008:
1. Your high school transcript for grades 9 through 12 (1st semester only for grade 12).
2. A letter of acceptance from an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university.
3. Two (2) letters of recommendation from people familiar with you who are familiar with your achievements, your community service and your personal character.
4. A 1,000 word essay (approximately 4 typewritten pages, double spaced) on the topic: “Truth and Consequences - What I have learned at Martin”

In fairness to all applicants, incomplete or late applications will not be considered. The recipient(s) of a Leslie Martin High Scholarship will be announced at the Martin High awards assembly on May 14, 2008.
